David Miller Lighting Design

David has over 20 years’ experience as a lighting designer and moving light programmer. He started off in theatre and now also works on corporate and other events with high production values on a short timescale.

He has designed the lighting for numerous shows and events in venues throughout the world, ranging from building sites to Royal Palaces. These have included numerous gala dinners, award shows, fashion shows and parties. They have included an F1 car launch, award shows for hairdressers and accountants and themed charity fundraising events. Theatre productions include ‘La Traviata’, ‘Trainspotting’, Girls’ Night Out’ and ‘Saucy Jack and the Space Vixens’. His work for one charity gala was described as “beautifully illuminated” in the Spectator’s society column.

With a Master’s Degree in Engineering from Cambridge and a technical background he is happy working on all aspects of the lighting from the creative overview to practical details.

Cast Software’s WYSIWYG is used extensively during the creative process. Starting with the production of visuals and videos during the pitch process, through the whole design phase and finishing with preprograming the show for when time on site is limited.
